Sick of finishing the shower with wet knees and an aching back? This one keeps you upright. The pole extends and the neck angles, so the brush sits flat on the shower base while you stand over it. The same pole takes the brush up to the top of the glass, so you are not stretching over the bath either. The head does the spinning, so you steer it instead of pressing on it. Take the pole off, and it is a handheld brush for the sink and the taps.

None of that matters if it does not clean. It has two speeds and eight heads in the box. Your cleaner does the chemistry and the brush does the scrubbing. Together, they help shift soap scum on the screen, mould in the corners, and grime in the grout. Anything left for years wants the cleaner on it first. It is rated IPX7, so it can go underwater. Will it really save my back, or will I still end up on my knees?

Set the handle to your height, put the brush on the pole, and push it along the shower base while standing. You will still lean in for the far end of a deep bath. The rest gets done on your feet.

Is it actually powerful enough, or does it just skate over the dirt?

It turns at 350 RPM for day-to-day and 450 for heavier going. On weekly grime, soap scum, and the muck in the grout, it scrubs while you stand up. On a shower left for years, put cream cleanser on first and let it work in.

Is it heavy to hold? I will be pushing it round the shower for a while.

On the pole, you push it along in front of you rather than holding it up, so the weight sits on the floor and not in your wrist. Set the handle to a height that suits you, and let it do the work.

Will the scourer pad mark my shower screen or the bath?

Match the head to the surface. The cloth head is the one for glass, and the flat head is for the shower floor. Keep the scourer for the hob and the coarse fibre brush for tough tile. Try a low corner first.

Water gets everywhere in a shower. Will it survive that, or will it die on me?

It is rated IPX7, and that rating is for being held underwater, not for a splash. Shower spray is well within its rating. You can work with the water running and rinse the whole head under the tap when you are done.

How long does a charge actually last? I have read about ones that die after ten minutes.

Ninety minutes on a full charge, which is longer than most people spend in the bathroom in one go. You are not racing the battery down. It charges over USB, and the cable comes in the box.

How do I clean the heads so they do not go mouldy in the cupboard?

Rinse the heads while they are still wet and squeeze the sponges out. Stand them somewhere airy so they dry before they go in the cupboard. Wipe the body with a damp cloth and dry the charging port.
